This guide offers access to hotels of quality and character drawn from the UKs no1 independent hotel guide. Provides lots of ways to find suitable accommodation in UK and Ireland. It contains most, but not all, of the selected hotels in the print edition. There are also a few selected hotels in Continental Europe.

The Good Hotel Guide, first published 34 years ago, is totally independent. It receives no payments, hospitality or advertising from hotels selected for an entry in the printed Guide. Hotels pay an administration fee to be on the GHG website and GHG app, but only those hotels that have a free entry in the print edition are eligible. The Guide includes budget B&Bs, good-value hotels as well as luxurious country houses. The hotels that we write about in our Guide are by definition outstanding. It is always based on what our readers tell us backed up by anonymous visits by experienced inspectors.

The classic search function enables you to find the hotel of your choice. You can also search using a map. And there is a search button to find a hotel near you. Many of our selected hotels also offer special offers and bargain deals.

Each October, a new Guide is published after having been completely updated and rewritten with about 100 new entries.
